[Action A - Around Mayfield, December 26th]
[It's been a rough couple of weeks for everyone, but at least things seem to have settled down now.  Kono's hoping to never spend another Christmas in Mayfield, not if she has something to do about it.

Today, though, she's spreading a little bit of cheer.  In her stocking she got a few sweets, but also two small leis.  One she's keeping for herself, and she's wearing it around her neck.  The other she has taken apart to bring flowers to the people she knows around Mayfield.

If you've met Kono during her stay so far, she's coming to your door with a smile and a flower, just for you.]

[Action B - 463 Stone Street, later on December 26th]
[Now that it's not freezing to the point of being unbearably cold, Kono's finally venturing outside to play a bit with the snow.  On the snow day she had a chance to make a snow angel, but now she's taking time to build a snowman in her front yard.  She hasn't gotten very far yet, but feel free to stop to talk or help.]

((That's fine, busy time of year))

Oh, good! I didn't think it was cold enough, but I wasn't sure exactly.

((OOC: Hope you don't mind the backdate, dear!))

[Action A

opens the door
]

Hey, Kono. Merry belated Christmas.

[Peter trumps home from another weird, pointless day at work. He comes home to find a package on his doorstep. He grins, then cautiously prods it with his foot before picking it up and opening it up. What he sees makes him arch an eyebrow, then experimentally flex a muscle.]

[identity profile] thecoolexec.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
That's actually fine with me, turns out I'm nearly broke. Looks like now I can eat there, too. Goodie for me!

Peter, huh? Who's that? Significant other?

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:16 am (UTC)(link)

I figured that's what you should do with snow. That or throw snowballs at people, but that hardly seemed neighborly.

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, he's married. But we've kind of stuck together while we've been here. Support system.

Don't you have a job? I thought you automatically got assigned something when you got here.

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, with as cold as it got, I wouldn't have been surprised. I hope none of that hit you too hard.

Hey, you trying out for Mr. Universe over there?

[identity profile] thecoolexec.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. Insignificant other, then. ...Semi-significant other.

Yeah, I heard about that... that is a thing they do, I guess. Not that I really paid attention to it. Someone told me I was supposed to report to a job yesterday, but I never showed up, and probably wouldn't have if I didn't learn of dronings. Man, wonder how long I could have gone, though...

[Tony looks up and meets her expression of disbelief.] Er, work isn't my forte. I'm more of a "brilliant idea" person than a "labor" one. I'm the CEO of my parent's weapons engineering company, y'see.

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:36 am (UTC)(link)

Weapons engineering? Wow. What does your company make?

[identity profile] webball.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
That's Captain Universe to you. Ex... Captain Universe, but still counts...

Top o' th' mornin' to ya, Kono! Check it out -- I was a good boy this year.

[He tosses Kono the box, which has another photograph in it: Image]

Ah... FORMERLY, we designed different technologies for various fields: medicine, research, aeronautical, NASA... the problem is, that doesn't pay the bills, so we also sold some contracts to the military for advanced new weaponry.

That's all in the past, though. Stark Industries is severing its military ties.

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:49 am (UTC)(link)

So you got your spider strength back? Cool. That'll definitely come in handy around here.

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
That seems like an... odd choice for a weapons company. Unless you're going to help arm law enforcement instead? Even then, we don't order tanks and rocket launchers, so it wouldn't make as much money.

[identity profile] splashpuppy.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Ms. Ukraine made sure we all stayed warm enough. She's real good at taking care of people.

There's gotta be someone you can throw all the snowballs ya want at.

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Good. I'm glad to hear that. The cold was brutal. I hope that was part of the whole Christmas... thing and not normal.

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, if the Mayor happened to walk by...

[identity profile] thecoolexec.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, "weapons company" is a little... that's not ALL we do, we just sell things to the military on the side to afford the innovations we bring to the other fiel-- y'know what? Not important. Let's just say I... had my heart opened up... and realized the consequences of some of Stark Industries' business dealings. It was not the kind of thing I wanted to be a part of any longer. I was called a Merchant of Death once. Not a nickname I particularly enjoyed. "Delightful" is much nicer.

Enough shop talk! Look at this -- you got all that out of me and don't even know your horoscope.

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
No problem, brah. Part of being in Mayfield is that you find yourself telling a lot about who you are and where you're from so that you can compare notes.

Well, let's see. I'm from Hawaii, which you've already figured out. Back home I'm a cop on a task force set up by the Governor.

[identity profile] thecoolexec.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? Sounds like you're a real Hawaii 5-0 detective! Buh buh buh ba BAAA baa... buh buh BAHH bahhhh...!

[Kono seems to not get the reference.]

The... y'know, the old TV show theme song?

.....cough

[identity profile] webball.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[He beams at her.] Heeyyy, the lady was paying attention! And you even got the technical name for it right! I'm impressed, Miss Kalakaua.

[He comically struts over to a parked car, stretches out dramatically, squats, grabs the car by the fender and hoists it into the air. He strains a little, then lifts it a bit higher, but his knees start to waver a little so he sets it back down again. He leans on the hood, wiping sweat off his brow, then flashes her a thumbs-up.]

Hoo! I forgot, they made cars much denser back then. Or, back now. Much more metal in these things than the cars we're used to.

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)

We are Five-0. What TV show?

[identity profile] surf-n-makai.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Show off. Still, that's pretty good.

Here you go. From my stocking to you. Mele Kalikimaka, Peter.
