[Action A - Around Mayfield, December 26th]
[It's been a rough couple of weeks for everyone, but at least things seem to have settled down now.  Kono's hoping to never spend another Christmas in Mayfield, not if she has something to do about it.

Today, though, she's spreading a little bit of cheer.  In her stocking she got a few sweets, but also two small leis.  One she's keeping for herself, and she's wearing it around her neck.  The other she has taken apart to bring flowers to the people she knows around Mayfield. 

If you've met Kono during her stay so far, she's coming to your door with a smile and a flower, just for you.]


[Action B - 463 Stone Street, later on December 26th]
[Now that it's not freezing to the point of being unbearably cold, Kono's finally venturing outside to play a bit with the snow.  On the snow day she had a chance to make a snow angel, but now she's taking time to build a snowman in her front yard.  She hasn't gotten very far yet, but feel free to stop to talk or help.]

Ah, that's a good idea. Snow's kind of fun to play in, when you're not risking frostbite.

[She gives her head a curious tilt.] Where are you from, that there's no snow? A tropical planet?

No, not a tropical planet, just a tropical island here on Earth. I'm guessing you're not from Earth then?

Oh! [And she looks suddenly embarrassed.] I should be more used to this by now. No, I'm not from Earth... I'd love to see one of Earth's tropical islands. [A pause.] I'd love to see more of Earth. [Another pause.] I'm not sure that'll be happening anytime soon...

[She fusses with her scarf, still a little flustered. Yup, wearing sci-fi armor and a scarf on top of it. It's winter.] Er... I'm Dakki. Dakki Sigal. You'd be...?

I'm Kono Kalakaua. You live with Gat right? He's mentioned you before.

Yes! Yes, I do! So you're Kono! Gat's mentioned you. I'm sorry we haven't had the chance to talk before now! I've been... knitting. Or being erased. Or knitting while being erased. [She laughs, and picks at her scarf a little more.]

Ooooh, you were wrapped up in that whole Christmas mess. I'm sorry. The bitter cold and power failure was bad enough on it's own.

The scarf is nice though. Did you knit that?

I was... were you, at all? Were you able to keep warm enough? You weren't erased too, were you? [She's immediately looking concerned.]

Er... yes! I did! Thank you! Does the color work? With, y'know, me? I knitted it to match the winter coat I wore before I got my body back. [It's a pale blue.]

I guess it IS a bad habit, because we have a habit of still being here when we wake up. Say, I'm sure you'd tell me, but you haven't found... anything new? Located any clues, met anybody new and perhaps suspicious?

Oh, no, I wasn't erased. I managed with lots of blankets. Lots. Things are better now that it's warmed up.

I haven't found anything new, but I did have a conversation about Mayfield with Gat. He has an interesting theory. Have you met Gat? He lives here on our street. The android.

He's well designed, but if you saw him you'd know he's an android.

Gat figures maybe this is all some sort of virtual reality kind of thing. He's seen this kind of technology before where he's from. It sounds crazy, but everything here is crazy. It almost makes sense. The way the highway loops, the way people just wake back up after dying, how the town changes around so fast. What if it's all just... programming?

The thought had crossed my mind, but... God, something like that is hard to even imagine, y'know?

Kinda feels like eventually something will unplug us from the Matrix and we'll all wake up, naked, slimy and confused...
